The KnowledgeLake Story
Learn MoreIn 1999, Ron Cameron and Bob Bueltmann embarked on a mission to use technology to help people and businesses thrive. Their shared passion led to the founding of KnowledgeLake, a company destined to revolutionize how people work.
Two years later, in 2001, KnowledgeLake partnered with Microsoft, setting their sights on disrupting the legacy process automation market. Over the next 12 years, they developed groundbreaking software that enabled thousands of companies to leverage Microsoft SharePoint for enhanced operational efficiency. Their success culminated in a successful exit to Fujitsu in 2013.
But Ron Cameron's vision for KnowledgeLake was far from over. Driven by a desire to elevate the original business plan, he led a group to re-acquire the company in 2018. With a renewed focus, the KnowledgeLake team set out to address five core challenges they had identified at their founding:
- Cost and Complexity of On-Premises Solutions: On-premises solutions were too expensive and technically challenging to implement and maintain.
- Fragile Multi-Vendor Integrations: Many automation solutions relied on "best of breed" components integrated into fragile and hard-to-maintain multi-vendor configurations.
- Dependability of Legacy Technologies: Existing technologies lacked the reliability needed for critical production transactional processes.
- User Experience Barriers: Complex user interfaces prevented automation solutions from being truly loved by users.
- Insufficient Operational Efficiency: Legacy solutions fell short in achieving the desired operational efficiency goals and labor savings.
Determined to overcome these obstacles, Ron and the KnowledgeLake team crafted a new automation platform designed to solve these issues while staying true to their original vision of transforming the way people work. They aimed to take their vision to an entirely new level, one that would disrupt the emerging Hyperautomation market and deliver unprecedented results.
The Modern KnowledgeLake Platform: Five Pillars of Innovation
